Spirited Monday Evening Salon

Time

Made by hand, by tradition, by time. What pace do you actually want, and whose pace are you keeping? What gets better with age, and what are you in such a hurry for?

What pace do you actually want to live at, and whose pace are you keeping instead? When did "busy" become the answer to "how are you," and what would you say if it weren't allowed?

Everything at Alma was made slowly, by hands that could not be rushed, or by years that did the work themselves. What in your life has only gotten better with time: a friendship, a skill, a piece of furniture, a grief? And what are you in such a hurry for, really?

How does time feel different now than it did at twenty? Is it going faster, or are you paying less attention? What have you been putting off until there's time, and what would it take to admit the time is now?

Is patience a virtue or just a word for waiting well? Who taught you to wait, and who taught you to rush? What do you want to have made, by hand or by living, that will outlast you?

Come as the light gets long. Bring one thing you've been meaning to do slowly, and we'll see if the evening can be the start of it.
